Key Responsibilities

A Database Administrator (DBA) focuses on the performance, integrity, and security of the bank’s data systems across a variety of platforms.

Key duties often include:

Installation and Configuration: Setting up standalone and high-availability (HA) database environments, including patching and version upgrades.

Performance Management: Monitoring systems, performing advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Implementing and managing solutions like Oracle Data Guard/RAC and SQL Server AlwaysOn/Clustering to ensure continuous operation and data protection.

Backup and Recovery: Planning and executing database backup and complex recovery strategies.

Troubleshooting and Support: Providing technical assistance to application teams and resolving complex database issues.

Automation and Cloud Integration: Developing automation scripts (e.g., using Python, Bash) and working with cloud-native database services and architectures are increasingly relevant skills.

Required Expertise

We specifically look for 10 years above experience in a multi-database environment:

  Oracle: Strong experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, and 19c, including Oracle Data Guard and Real Application Clusters (RAC).

SQL Server: Proficiency in various versions (e.g., 2012-2019) and high-availability features like Clustering, Replication, and AlwaysOn.

PostgreSQL & MySQL: Experience in managing open-source databases, often within cloud environments.

Other Technologies: Knowledge of other systems like MongoDB, DB2, Yugabyte, and cloud platforms (AWS, etc.) are considered advantages.
